Civil Government

  • Civil government is of divine appointment (Romans13:1).
  •  God changes the hearts of kings for His will to be accomplished (Proverbs 21:1).
  • Civil governments are for the good of humanity. God's intent is that they are to be a blessing to us, and not a curse. Only those which do evil should be afraid (Romans 13:3-4).  All those in authority are to be prayed for, honored, and obeyed.
  • We are to practice civil disobedience when a government requires us to act in a manner that goes against the teachings of the Bible (Daniel 3:1-18, 6:7-10, Exodus 1:16&17).
  • Civil rulers have no control over or rights to interfere with religious matters. Churches in America should receive no help from the State, except for protection from evil doers and protection of their religious liberty guaranteed in the 1st Amendment of the Constitution of the United States.
  • Our Church has not and will never request a tax-exempt status from any government. Our church will never ask any government permission to be a church or practice Christianity in any way.
