Baptism
Believers Baptism is the first commandment given to those who have been born again (Matthew 28:19-20). In the Bible, after getting saved people got baptized (Acts 2:41, 8:12, 8:36-38, 10:48, 16:33, 18:8, 19:5).
• The prerequisite to believers baptism is salvation. We do not baptize those who are not saved.
• Baptism has no saving power. Baptism cannot wash away sins, forgive sins, or provide the remission of sins.
• Believers' baptism is by immersion only. Jesus was baptized by immersion, He came up out of the water which means he was down in the water (Matthew 3:16).
• Baptism associates us with the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ (Romans 6:3-4).
• Salvation and baptism are requirements for membership in a Local New Testament Church.
